Wedding Spotlight: Brad and Amanda

We here at CQ Cards are proud to begin our Wedding Spotlight Series with the beautiful Wedding of Brad and Amanda. They went through the rigorous wedding process with relative ease, and are here to share their valuable advice and highlights of the day with you.

In order to make their wedding truly personal, they decided to hold the reception somewhere they both truly love: the golf course. “We were lucky enough to roll in from the eighteenth green on a golf cart, but not just any golf cart – it was much larger, painted green, extremely loud and the DJ was playing AC/DC as we arrived at the head table.” Amanda said. To really get a big reaction they kept this entrance a complete secret from everyone, even the wedding party!

They also added a unique touch with the decorations; having both come from dairy farm backgrounds they wanted their décor to represent that. At the ceremony they used old milk cans as stands for the flower arrangements, and especially adorable was the use of little tin milk buckets filled with M&Ms for the guest favors. Another important part of the day included Brad’s dream of driving a Dodge Viper. It came true when he was able to drive it from the ceremony to the picture location, and then onto the reception. The vehicle was a huge hit with the guests and everyone was able to get fabulous pictures with it.

When it came to music, they chose to do something really personal and special by having a band made up of Amanda’s sister and three of their friends. Her sister led worship at the ceremony and also sang a solo during the signing of the wedding registry.

Amanda offers up some words of wisdom to future brides: “The best advice I can give is to just stay calm and relaxed throughout the whole process. Have fun with everything! In the past I often spent a lot of time on the smallest of details when most people will not even notice them. While planning the wedding I learned how to not worry as much about these minor details.” She went on to tell us about what an incredible resource her mother was throughout the entire process, “She helped me with just about everything – going to appointments, searching the internet, making a cupcake tower – and the list goes on and on.” Having a strong person to lean on was definitely a priceless asset throughout her entire wedding process.

Another great tip comes in the form of choosing a reception venue. To make the planning easier, Brad and Amanda went with an all-inclusive venue. “The venue coordinated everything. They looked after the menu and food, DJ, decorating and take-down. It made it so much more enjoyable because all we had to do was meet with the different individuals and tell them exactly what we wanted, and they looked after it. I give most of the credit for my stress-free wedding to this reception venue.”

After all was said and done and the big day was over, they ended up at our website while searching for wedding Thank You cards. “After taking a look at the website, and comparing it to the many others, it was definitely the one that caught my eye. Everything about the site was so easy. It was so simple to maneuver throughout the different pages, and the example cards were awesome. After receiving my request for two different sample cards, I loved what I saw and quickly chose CQ Cards.” Amanda noted. They decided on the Sweet Classic Thank You card design and personalized it by changing the font color, accent color and revising the text to better reflect their personality. “I feel like our card will really be enjoyed by those receiving it. It definitely brings us back to the moment. Our pictures highlight all the fun we had.”

Amanda’s parting thoughts: “Enjoy every moment of the wedding process, everything from choosing a date and venue, to buying a dress, and then of course the big day. Stay calm and relaxed.” We think she and her husband pulled off a creative and perfectly personal wedding, making for some incredible memories that will last them both the rest of their lives.

Thank You Card: Two Souls

Two Souls (111) is the design Prabhdeep and Vick used to create their stunning Thank You card seen above. They chose to keep the original bright pink and green design colors, but these are completely customizable to any color, as usual. On the inside left panel they did something uniquely special by including pictures of their family, while leaving the inside right panel blank so they could write personalized messages to their guests. The back panel was customized with a picture of them, the words “Two hearts, one soul” and their contact information. We think they did a stunning job and the great photography really makes the cards stand out.

Thank You Card: Squares

Maryann made her lovely Thank You card unique by starting with the popular Squares (107) design shown above. She then decided to change the standard text from “Two Hearts, Two Lives” to “Two Hearts, One Love” and changed the color patter from the standard grey and mint to a georgous dark brown and soft green.  The couples wedding day photos compliment the squares and the color theme perfectly. Finally she took the standard thank you text out, leaving room to hand write a personal message.

Get Thanked For Your Thank You!

As daunting as a wedding can be, it’s not over until the Thank You cards are in the mail. These seemingly simple cards tend to cause a lot of anxiety for brides who aren’t sure what to say, when to send it, or whom to send it to.

The traditional rule is that they should be sent no longer than three months after the wedding, but sooner is better than later. Despite this, modern couples are stretching this rule to six or sometimes even twelve months. Try to send them out as quickly as possible after the honeymoon, and remember to always refer to the specific gift that you are thanking them for directly.

Always be grateful in your comments, even if the gift was not to your taste. You can be more or less formal in your salutation depending on your relationship with the person. For example, a wedding gift received from your parents friends should be addressed as ‘Mr. and Mrs.’ unless you grew up calling them by their first name.

Keep in mind that wedding Thank You notes differ from Thank You notes in general as they require a more formal look overall. Find cards that fit your wedding style and personality, and shop diligently as deals sometimes do become available.

A great way to really personalize a wedding Thank You card is through photos. The wedding is over and you have plenty of beautiful wedding photos to choose from. Photo personalized Thank You cards are more than just notes, they become a memento of your wedding day that your guests will hold onto forever. It is a great way to say thank you while also giving them something they can keep in return to remember the day with.

A great place to get photo personalized Thank You cards is here at CQ Cards, as we are an online service that allows for multiple pictures and a graphic designer to help you every step of the way. Our website has over twenty-five different verses to choose from based on actual customer experience, so there is no need to worry about what to write. When all is said and done, what matters most is that the card is personal and represents you and your new partner. Have fun with it and don’t be a slave to the rules if they don’t compliment who you are.
