The inside middle panel was left blank to pen a personal note and customized quotes were added to the inside left and right panels.
On June 10th, 2011 with an astonishing 1200 in attendance, Mathew became Father Mathew in a traditional Catholic ceremony held at St. Patrick Parish, Diocese of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. A reception followed at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall.
The event was the culmination of 9 years of study and training. Father Mathew was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from family, friends and the Catholic Community and by the love and joy that he experienced.
FR. Matthew’s memorable moments:
“Lying face down in from of the altar while the entire church prays (sign of surrender, commitment, reliance on God), feeling incredible joy, I was also struck by the wonderful people who came out, especially my 85 and 90 year old grandmas, two bishops (one Roman Catholic and one Ukrainian Catholic), several chiefs from First Nations communities in Saskatchewan and Alberta.”
FR. Matthew’s aspirations moving forward?
“Practically speaking, I’m serving as a priest at St. Philip Neri Parish in Saskatoon. I find it shockingly humbling the way people will ask a priest to come into the most intimate moments of their lives–birth, death, marriage, suffering, joy. I want to reverence those moments and help people to find hope, meaning, God in those intimate moments and the more simple moments of their lives.”
Why CQ Cards?
People were very generous to me, so I wanted to give at least a high quality thank you card. I like the three-panel option, customization, and not being stuck with just any ordinary outline or message. Photos, wording, and three-panel format were important features.
